Alan Johnson Watercolours
Alan Johnson likes to paint places in Stratford that visitors to town don't often see. Many of Alan's watercolours are studies of the buildings of the Cooper Site which once housed the CNR Repair Shops or of other small factories in the city that are no longer used for their original purpose. Often weeds and scrub brush have taken over the parking lots and surround the buildings. It is the less scenic part of the city and yet Alan's paintings are beautifully done renderings of what were once important buildings in a young community.

What an absolutely perfect capture of the "air of the city. The light in Stratford is unique and beautiful, especially against the hulk of old architecture. Rendered in absolute solemnity of one who knows the place. Beautiful. We are lucky indeed to have such talent to capture our life here with such a beautiful perspective.
